Greenery Garden Wedding in Orvieto, Umbria
A french couple, living in London, elected the Abbey of Orvieto as location for their italian wedding. The complex was born on the remains of a medieval monastery in the middle of the umbrian countriside. The tuff-made walls and the rows of olive trees and grapevines all around produced a picturesque and evocative atmosphere.
The ceremony, celebrated in the austere church, part of the complex, ended throwing red, heart-shaped ballons to give a colourful and cheerful touch.
Dinner was served in the ruins of the former chapter house: a unique and long table along the whole hall, adorned with flowers, candles and bundles of aromatic herbs and olive oil bottles as place cards. The effect, under a twinkling sky in an hot summer evening, was simply spectacular. And a lot of fun, music, performances and good hopitality as in the italian tradition.
